Three members of the QOLO group participated in the AI Photonics 2026 conference held in San Sebastián, Spain. The conference brought together researchers working at the intersection of artificial intelligence and photonics, highlighting how machine learning is becoming an increasingly powerful tool for solving complex problems in optical science, while photonic technologies are opening new possibilities for AI hardware and information processing.

Our group contributed to the scientific program with one oral presentation and two posters, showcasing our recent work on combining deep learning with photonic sensing and imaging. Namely:

Miroslav Ježek gave a presentation titled “Photonic Sensing and Quantum Detection Assisted by AI,” outlining our research on using artificial intelligence to enhance photonic sensing and quantum measurement techniques.

Martin Bielak presented the poster “All-Fiber Microsensor of Polarization at Single-Photon Level Aided by Deep Learning,” in which we demonstrate how deep learning can improve polarization sensing in fiber-based quantum photonic systems.

Dominik Vašinka presented the poster “From Micro to Macro-World: Device-Agnostic Single-Emitter Super-Resolution Imaging Using Deep Learning,” which introduces a deep-learning approach enabling super-resolution imaging across different experimental platforms without device-specific optimization.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity to discuss our work with researchers from across the rapidly growing AI and photonics communities, exchange ideas, and learn about the latest developments in this emerging interdisciplinary field.
