The member of our team at QOLO, Ivo Straka, has received the Werner von Siemens Award for his dissertation on preparation, detection, and characterization of quantum states of light. Ivo focused on generating multiphoton states as well as light signals with arbitrary photon statistics. He experimentally verified highly non-classical and non-Gaussian operation of photonic sources based on parametric downconversion and quantum dots. He also developed a detailed and accurate counting model of single-photon avalanche diodes.
